Market your car like an OEM.

In the world of online collector car auctions, there is nothing more important than presentation. From media packages to auction representation and marketing, Hitting Redline is available to step in with a comprehensive media package, giving your collector car spectacular visibility in the global marketplace.

The numbers speak for themselves: our photos and videos have helped to sell more than $12M in auction vehicles since 2020.

Case Study: Ex-Tom Cruise Nissan 300ZX

When the client reached out to us about representing this special vehicle, we didn’t believe it. What were the chances that this 1984 Nissan 300ZX, prepared when new by Newman-Sharp Racing for the SCCA Showroom Stock class, was the actual car raced by Tom Cruise during the licensing period of his GT racing career? Preparing this car for sale didn’t just mean arranging for photography and scanning documentation: our roles involved researching the entire history of this once-lost racer to determine its legitimacy. Between decade-old emails from Bob Sharp and the documentation of this specific chassis, we pieced together an incredible story about a race car, an era in motorsports, and the early career of an actor turned no-holds-barred racing driver.

The auction generated more than 300 comments and unsurfaced even more history—including photos in period of a young Tom Cruise next to this very car, as well as tales from a previous drive. The fanfare resulted in a plethora of articles from likes of Top Gear, Hagerty, The Drive, GQ, Robb Report, and more, and after a fierce bidding war, the final hammer price was $102,200. The car was shipped to a passionate new owner in Florida, where the restored racer has made appearances at events around the Southeast.

Case Study: Street-Legal Lola T160/70

If there’s such a thing is a “regular” Lola T70, this car is far from it. This chassis, which started life as a T160, gained a colorful history in the mid-1980s as a midnight street racer, and later as a Road & Track cover car. It’s certainly a one-off, from the Beechcraft aircraft-sourced cabin vents, to the strange seating position, to the massive 460ci V8. Perhaps due to this unique setup, the car languished for sale in the mid-100s at a notable Boston-area dealer, before being listed on Bring a Trailer with our OEM-grade coverage. The obscure race car that couldn’t sell became a $307,777 auction superstar when the hammer finally struck, driving home the need for professional video and photo in any auction—even with cars that would be expected to sell themselves.
